A weekly Nairobi peer group
You are not alone
Why peer support is so powerful.
Shared understanding
Hearing from others who have faced the same struggles breaks the shame and isolation that keeps many people from seeking help. You will meet people who truly get it — because they have lived it.
Accountability & structure
Weekly group meetings give your recovery a rhythm and a community of people who will notice if you miss a session. That gentle accountability is one of the most powerful forces in sustained recovery.
Hope through lived experience
Our groups include people at every stage of recovery — from those just starting out to those who have been gambling-free for years. Seeing what recovery looks like in real life is transformative.

Weekly in-person groups
Online WhatsApp groups
For those outside Nairobi or who prefer the privacy of remote participation. Our moderated WhatsApp groups provide daily peer check-ins, weekly structured discussion prompts, and access to a trained facilitator. Available 24 hours a day — a powerful alternative for those seeking gambling addiction help Kenya from anywhere in the country.
Family & loved ones groups
Gambling addiction affects the whole family. Our dedicated groups for partners, parents, and family members of problem gamblers provide a safe space to share, learn coping strategies, and find support from others in the same situation.
What happens at your first group session?
You arrive and are welcomed by the facilitator — no pressure to share anything at your first session.
The group opens with a brief check-in from each member — you can simply say your name if you prefer.
A discussion topic or reflection exercise is introduced — often based on a theme like triggers, cravings, or relationships.
Members share openly — everything said in the group is strictly confidential and stays in the room.
The session closes with a group affirmation and reminders of available resources and next steps.
Ready to take the first step?
Common questions about support groups.
Q. Do I have to share at my first session?
Not at all. You are welcome to simply listen at your first session — or as many sessions as you need. There is no pressure to speak until you feel ready.
Q. Is everything said in the group confidential?
Yes. All group members agree to a confidentiality agreement at the start. What is shared in the group stays in the group.
Q. Can I bring a family member?
You are welcome to attend on your own. We also have dedicated groups specifically for family members and loved ones of problem gamblers.
Q. Do I need to have stopped gambling before I join?
No. You can join a group at any stage — including if you are still actively gambling. The group is a support, not a reward for sobriety.
Q. Is there a cost?
All GamHelp Kenya support groups are completely free of charge.
